I captioned this "Fun is Fun is Fun - Color Run"
On Saturday, July 9, the Color Run 5K race took place in Chicago in the park at Montrose and Lake Michigan. Hundreds of people gathered to get sprayed in colored powder as they took off at the starting line.
This type of race is becoming popular around the nation and has expanded to more than 35 countries around the world. This happening celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality. Anyone can join in - kids and adults, novice and serious racers.
I had seen photos of such an event and looked forward to trying my hand at photographing the local race. It is not easy to capture good action and emotion at the moment when the air-canons spray the runners with colored powder, but I did my best. The runners are also thrown packets of color which they can use to paint each other.
Below is a slide show of some of my pictures that communicate the enthusiasm of the participants.
