Labor Day weekend means four days of free jazz concerts at Millennium Park in Chicago Concerts of this year's 37th Chicago Jazz Festival took place in three areas of the popular Park located in the center of the Windy City. Evening performances took place in the Pritzker Pavillion, an open air venue with a state-of-the-art sound system. Thousands of music lovers gathered at the Pavillion to hear some of jazz greats.

Some of the entertainers which I photographed included the Marquis Hill Blacktet, Butler, Bernstein & the Hot 9, the Fred Hersch trio, Jose James, Jane Bunnett & Maqueque, Cyrille Aimée and Muhal Richard Abrams' Experimental Band. The jazz ranged from the blues to avant garde.
