Race to Mackinac 2015

On June 11, 2015, starting at 11:00 AM, fleet after fleet of sailboats left Chicago on their journey to Mackinac Island, Michigan. The Race to Mackinac from Chicago is the longest fresh water race in the world at 333 miles. More than 300 boats participate in this long standing race hosted by the Chicago Yacht Club. The first race ran 107 years ago.
The late Roy Disney holds the record for the fastest crossing on his boat Pyewacket in 2002 with a time of 23 hours 30 minutes.
