Front & Center Exhibit

I’m looking forward to the opening of the “Front & Center” exhibit at the Hyde Park Art Center this Saturday, September 13th from 5:00-8:00 PM.   This show is the culmination of a 6 month development program for a small group of selected artists.  23 artists of various media are showing their work in this exhibit which runs until the January 4, 2015.   Tricia Van Eck, founder of  the 6018North Art Center in Chicago curated this show.

I will be presenting multiple images under the umbrella title of “Works in Progress.”  One series showcases photos of  abstract arrangements of white Geofoam blocks used in the construction of the new Maggie Daley Park in downtown Chicago.  Another series consists of abstract photographic compositions made from paint-splattered surfaces in the room at the Hyde Park Art Center where I was learning how to paint.

I am pleased that the production of my prints for this exhibit was partially supported by the Illinois Arts Council.
