270 boats with 2300 sailors set sail from Chicago to Mackinac Island, Michigan in the 111th running of the Race to Mackinac. Three fleets of cruising boats left on Friday, July 12, 2019. The majority  of the sleeker racing sailboats started off oh Saturday under colorful spinnaker sails.  This was the 111th running of this race, the longest fresh water race in the world at 333 miles.
