The Roots Provide the Beat on the First Night

The Taste of Chicago, one of Chicago's favorite festivals, began on Wednesday July 6th and runs through Sunday, July 10, 2016. Grant Park in the center of the City is lined with food stations where Taste-goers can get a sampling from 39 restaurants. Each night, musicians fill the park with their sound. Featured musicians during the festival include, The Roots, Billy Idol, the Isley Brothers and Sheila E. Pictured: Tuba Gooding Jr.

The first night of music was devoted to hip hop. Donnie Trumpet performed first and then the Roots ( famous as the band on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.)
